Topic: Bigger Than the Storm
Mark 4:40
"Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?" — Mark 4:40
CrossCamp Formation Truth
The storm is real. So is the One in your boat.
Morning Reflection
A fisherman on Lake Volta once described what it's like when a storm suddenly rises far from shore — the sky turning dark in minutes, waves climbing over the boat. "You realize how small you are," he said, "and how much you need someone bigger than the storm."
The disciples, experienced fishermen, felt that same fear one night — while Jesus slept peacefully in their boat.
The Word
When the disciples woke Jesus in panic, He stood up and spoke three words to the wind and waves. Instantly, everything went calm.
This story isn't really about weather. It's about who Jesus is. He has power over anything that scares you — sickness, exams, family problems, an uncertain future. Your storms are never too big for Him.
He asks the disciples — and you — the same question: "Why are you afraid?" Not because your fear is silly, but because He wants you to remember who's in the boat with you.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A child was terrified of a thunderstorm until her father sat beside her and held her hand through every crash of thunder. The storm didn't stop. But her fear did — because she wasn't facing it alone.
What storm are you facing right now that you haven't honestly brought to Jesus yet?
Say your biggest worry out loud in prayer today — specifically, not in general words.
Lord, You have power over every storm in my life. I bring You the one I've been carrying alone. Bring peace now. Amen.
