Topic: A Friend, Not a Judge

Memory Verse
Luke 15:2

"This man receives sinners and eats with them." — Luke 15:2

CrossCamp Formation Truth

Jesus isn't afraid of your mess. He walks straight into it.

Morning Reflection

In every community, there are people everyone avoids — the ones with a bad name, the ones nobody wants to sit near. In Jesus' time, that meant tax collectors and known troublemakers.

But Jesus ate with them. Not from far away. He sat at their tables and enjoyed being with them — so much that religious leaders complained about it.

The Word

That complaint was meant as an insult. But it's actually one of the best things ever said about Jesus.

He didn't wait for people to clean up their lives before coming near them. He moved toward broken and ashamed people — not because their sin was okay, but because He knew something important: people don't change from far away. They change up close.

If you've ever felt like your past makes you "too much" for God, this is your answer. Jesus isn't scared off by your story. He moves toward it.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A boy was too embarrassed by his muddy, torn clothes to go near his father. But his father ran to him anyway, hugged him tightly, mud and all, before a single word was said. The hug came before the cleanup.

CrossCamp Reflection

What part of your story have you assumed is "too much" for God to love?

Today's Walk

Write down one thing from your past you've been hiding from God. Give it to Him in prayer today.

Prayer for Today

Jesus, thank You for coming close instead of waiting for me to be perfect. I give You my whole story today. Amen.
