Topic: It Wasn't an Accident
Isaiah 53:5
"He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities." — Isaiah 53:5
CrossCamp Formation Truth
The cross wasn't an accident. It was love with a plan.
Morning Reflection
A potter once deliberately broke a nearly finished pot in front of his apprentice. The apprentice was confused — the pot looked fine. "There was a hidden crack," the potter explained. "Better to deal with it now than let it break later and hurt what's around it."
The Word
The cross wasn't a surprise or a mistake. Jesus knew it was coming and talked about it before it happened. It was the plan all along — because someone had to deal with sin, and Jesus chose to be the One.
God didn't just look away from sin like it doesn't matter. And He didn't leave us to deal with it alone either. At the cross, both things happened at once: sin was dealt with seriously, and we were loved completely.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A father paid off his son's entire debt without being asked, even though it cost him everything he had saved. When his son found out, he said, "You didn't have to do that." His father replied, "I know. That's what made it love."
Have I ever thought of the cross as something that "just happened" to Jesus, instead of something He chose for me?
Read Isaiah 53 slowly today, like you're reading it for the first time.
Father, thank You that the cross wasn't an accident but a rescue You planned. Help me never take it lightly. Amen.
