Topic: Love That Ran First
Romans 5:8
"God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8
CrossCamp Formation Truth
God's love didn't wait for you to get it right. It ran to meet you first.
Morning Reflection
A father once ran into a burning building to save his sleeping children, getting badly burned in the process. Asked why he risked it, he looked confused by the question. "They're my children," he said. "There was no decision to make."
The Word
Romans 5:8 says something important: Christ died for us "while we were still sinners" — not after we cleaned up, not once we deserved it. While we were still far from God.
Most love responds to what someone deserves. God's love acted first, before we did anything to earn it. That's what made it different. He didn't wait for us to get it right. He moved toward us anyway.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A boy who had run away for years finally came home, expecting to be scolded. Instead, his mother was already standing at the gate, watching for him every single day since he left.
Have I been trying to earn love that Jesus already gave me for free?
Say this out loud today: "While I was still far from God, Christ died for me." Let it sink in.
Father, thank You for loving me before I deserved it. Let this truth settle into my heart today. Amen.
