"It is finished." — John 19:30
CrossCamp Formation Truth
You don't have to earn what's already been paid for.
Morning Reflection
A young woman spent months paying off a family debt, small payment after small payment. The day she made the last one, the bank gave her a stamped receipt: PAID IN FULL. She kept it in her Bible for years.
"It is finished" was Jesus' own stamped receipt — over the whole world's debt, at once.
The Word
Because Jesus already finished the work, you don't need to keep "paying" for your mistakes through guilt or trying extra hard to earn God's approval. You can't add anything to a debt that's already stamped paid in full.
Your part now isn't to finish the work. It's to receive it — to stop striving for something that's already been given to you freely.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A boy kept sending small payments for a bicycle his uncle had already given him for free. His uncle finally said, "Stop paying. It was always a gift. Just ride it."
Am I still trying to "pay" for something Jesus already paid for completely?
Name one thing you've been striving to "earn" from God, and consciously let it go in prayer today.
Jesus, thank You that it's truly finished. I stop striving today and simply receive what You've done. Amen.
