Topic: A Brand New Start

Memory Verse
John 3:3

"Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." — John 3:3

CrossCamp Formation Truth

You don't need to try harder to be new. You need to be made new.

Morning Reflection

A respected teacher named Nicodemus once came to Jesus at night, careful not to be seen, to ask questions he couldn't ask publicly. He knew a lot about religion. Everyone respected him. But Jesus told him plainly: none of that was enough. He needed something completely new.

The Word

Nicodemus was confused — "How can someone be born when they're old?" But Jesus wasn't talking about a physical thing. He meant a spiritual restart no amount of good behavior could produce.

Being "born again" isn't becoming a slightly better version of your old self. It's receiving a whole new life from God — something trying harder alone could never do.

This matters if you've been trying to "improve" your way to God — behaving better, trying harder — without ever actually starting fresh with Him. Trying harder changes your habits. Being born again changes who you are.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A caterpillar tried harder and harder to crawl faster, hoping to become something greater. But greatness didn't come from trying harder. It came when it stopped crawling completely and became something entirely new.

CrossCamp Reflection

Am I just trying to improve my old self, or have I actually received a fresh start from Jesus?

Today's Walk

If you never have, pray today specifically asking Jesus for new spiritual life — not just better behavior.

Prayer for Today

Jesus, I don't just need to improve. I need to be made new. I receive that new start today. Amen.
