Topic: The Mirror That Lies

Memory Verse
Genesis 1:27

"God created man in His own image." — Genesis 1:27

CrossCamp Formation Truth

That mirror is lying. You were made in God's image, not in your worst moment.

Morning Reflection

At fairground attractions, certain mirrors are built to stretch, shrink, and twist your reflection on purpose. People laugh at the distortion because they know, with total certainty, that the mirror is lying.

Many people, though, look into quieter distorting mirrors every day — comparison, past failure, harsh opinions — and believe the distortion completely.

The Word

Before sin, before failure, before anyone's opinion could distort it, Genesis says every person is made in God's image. That's not something you earn through good performance or lose through failure. It's the starting truth about who you are, given by your Creator.

Sin damaged how we see ourselves and each other — but it didn't erase that image. And in Christ, it's actively being restored, made new day by day.

When comparison or harsh words hand you a twisted reflection, you have permission to say what the fairground visitor already knows: that mirror is lying.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A girl who only ever saw her reflection in a cracked, dusty old mirror believed she looked broken — until someone handed her a clean one, and she realized the crack had never been in her at all.

CrossCamp Reflection

What "distorting mirror" — comparison, criticism, past failure — have I been using to decide my worth?

Today's Walk

Name one distorting mirror you look into often (social media, a critical voice), and limit it today.

Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for making me in Your image. Help me see myself through Your eyes today. Amen.
