Morning Reflection
A teacher once gave her students a simple exercise: write who you think you are, then write who others say you are, and compare. Most students found the two lists nearly identical — shaped almost completely by others' opinions.
She then asked a third question few had ever considered: what if there's a third list — not what you think, not what others say, but what your Creator says about you?
The Word
This verse gives us that third list: chosen, royal, holy, God's own. This isn't something to become someday. It's true right now for anyone who belongs to Christ.
Building your identity on others' opinions is shaky, because opinions change. Building it on your own feelings is shaky too, because feelings shift daily. But building it on what your Creator says about you doesn't move — because it was never based on your performance in the first place.
As this first month ends, this is the question worth settling: not what you think of yourself, not what others say — but who does God say you are?
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A rough, unpolished stone looked worthless lying in the dirt. But a jeweler recognized what it actually was: a diamond, still needing to be cut and cleaned, but valuable from the very start.

Father, I choose to build my identity on what You say, not on what I or others say. Show me who You say I am. Amen.
