Topic: A Letter From the Father
1 John 3:1
"See what kind of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God." — 1 John 3:1
CrossCamp Formation Truth
You're not just tolerated by God. You're loved as His child.
Morning Reflection
A soldier stationed far from home kept every letter his father wrote, rereading them on his hardest nights — not because they held new information, but because they reminded him, in his father's own handwriting, that he was known and loved.
The Word
This verse invites us to really "see" — not skim past — the kind of love the Father has given: that we're actually called His children, and we really are.
This isn't distant or formal love. It's full family belonging, with all the security that word carries. Whatever your experience with an earthly father has been — broken, distant, or missing — this is the Father whose love has never once changed.
As August ends, this is the truth to carry forward: you're not just tolerated by God. You're loved as His own child.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A king's servant lived his whole life quietly outside the palace gates, unaware the king had actually adopted him years earlier and left instructions for him to move in anytime he wished.
Have I really "seen" this love, or has it become a familiar phrase I've stopped noticing?
Read 1 John 3:1 slowly, three times out loud, letting each word land.
Father, thank You for calling me Your child. Let this truth settle into my heart today. Amen.
