Topic: Growth Takes Time

Memory Verse
1 Peter 2:2

"Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up." — 1 Peter 2:2

CrossCamp Formation Truth

No one expects a baby to run. Just keep growing, one day at a time.

Morning Reflection

A mother was asked why she didn't feed her newborn solid food right away. She laughed. "He's not ready. His body needs milk first, then he'll grow into everything else, step by step."

No one expects a baby to eat rice the day it's born. Spiritual growth works the same way.

The Word

New believers sometimes feel pressure to "know everything" quickly, or feel discouraged that they're not as mature as someone who's followed Jesus for twenty years. But growth was never meant to happen overnight.

Peter compares new believers to newborns craving milk — simple, basic truth, taken in consistently, that slowly builds strength for deeper things later. There's no shame in being new. Everyone starts there.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A farmer impatiently dug up a newly planted seed every few days to check its roots, wondering why it wasn't growing faster. Each time he dug it up, he damaged it further. Growth needs patience, not constant checking.

CrossCamp Reflection

Am I being patient with my own growth, or frustrated that I'm not "further along" yet?

Today's Walk

Instead of comparing your growth to someone else's, thank God today for wherever you currently are.

Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for being patient with my growth. Help me be patient with myself too. Amen.
