Morning Reflection
A young boy with very little to his name once gave half his lunch to a classmate who had none, without a second thought. Years later, as a successful businessman, he said that small habit of giving, started as a child, never left him.
The Word
Giving isn't just about money, though that's part of it. It's a whole posture toward life — being generous with your time, your attention, your resources, instead of holding everything tightly.
New believers sometimes think giving is only for people who have "extra." But giving usually starts small, and grows as a habit long before it grows in amount. What matters isn't the size of the gift. It's the willingness behind it.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A poor widow gave two small coins at the temple — the least amount possible — while wealthy people gave far more. Jesus said her gift was actually the greatest, because she gave everything she had, not just her extra.
What's one small way I can start practicing generosity today, even if it feels small?
Give something today — time, money, or attention — to someone who needs it.
Lord, teach me to give generously, starting small. Grow a generous heart in me. Amen.
