Morning Reflection
Two brothers who argued fiercely one afternoon refused to speak to each other by evening. Their mother made them sit together and talk it out before bed, saying, "Anger left overnight grows roots. Don't let it stay the night."
The Word
Learning to say sorry — quickly, honestly, without excuses — is one of the most important habits of a growing believer. Pride wants to wait, to justify, to avoid the discomfort of admitting fault. Love says sorry quickly, even when it's hard.
This applies to God and to people. Confessing quickly to God keeps your relationship with Him close. Saying sorry quickly to others keeps relationships from growing bitter roots that are much harder to remove later.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A small crack in a dam, ignored for a while, slowly widened until it became a flood. The same crack, repaired quickly, would have cost almost nothing to fix.
Is there someone I need to say sorry to that I've been putting off?
If there's a broken relationship you've been avoiding, take one step toward repairing it today.
Lord, give me the humility to say sorry quickly, both to You and to others. Amen.
