Morning Reflection

A young musician resented every correction from her teacher, believing her natural talent should be enough. Years later, a far less "talented" classmate who accepted every correction humbly had become the far better musician.

The Word

No one enjoys being corrected, especially early on in following Christ, when mistakes feel embarrassing. But correction — when it comes from someone trustworthy, offered in love — is one of the fastest ways to grow.

Pride resists correction because it feels like an attack. Humility receives it because it recognizes correction as help, not insult. Learning to say "thank you" instead of getting defensive is a skill worth building early.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A young sapling tied to a straight stake grew tall and strong, even though the tying felt restrictive at first. Left untied, it would have grown crooked, bending toward whatever direction the wind pushed it.

CrossCamp Reflection

How do I usually respond to correction — defensively, or with an open, teachable heart?

Today's Walk

The next time someone offers you correction today, practice simply saying "thank you" before reacting.

Prayer for Today

Lord, give me a humble, teachable heart. Help me receive correction as help, not insult. Amen.
