Morning Reflection
A father who corrected his son firmly after catching him in a dangerous lie once explained why: "I'm not correcting you because I'm angry. I'm correcting you because I love you too much to let this become who you are."
The Word
Discipline can feel like punishment, but in God's hands, it's actually proof of love. A parent who doesn't care ignores wrong behavior. A parent who loves deeply corrects it — not to hurt, but to protect and shape.
When you sense God correcting an area of your life through conviction, through Scripture, or through a trusted person, it's not a sign He's fed up with you. It's a sign He's actively shaping you into who you're becoming.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A gardener prunes healthy branches, cutting away what isn't needed, not because he dislikes the tree, but because he wants it to bear even more fruit.
Have I been resisting an area of correction, mistaking God's love for punishment?
If there's an area you know God has been correcting in you, take one step toward change today.
Lord, thank You for loving me enough to correct me. Help me receive it well. Amen.
