Morning Reflection
A young tree planted near a riverbank grew shallow roots at first, easily shaken by strong winds. Over time, as its roots stretched deeper toward the water, storms that once threatened to uproot it barely moved it at all.
The Word
This month has been about becoming rooted — not flashy, not complicated, just steady daily habits: prayer, Scripture, church, obedience, faith, trust. None of it feels dramatic day to day. But roots grow slowly, underground, unseen — until a storm comes, and you realize how deep they've actually gone.
Being "rooted" doesn't mean life gets easy. It means you're able to stand steady in it.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
Two trees stood side by side — one with deep roots, one with shallow ones. When the storm came, only one was still standing the next morning.
Which daily habit — prayer, reading Scripture, church, trust — do I most need to strengthen right now?
Choose one habit from this month to commit to daily, starting today.
Lord, help my roots grow deep in You, so I can stand steady through whatever comes. Amen.
