Morning Reflection
A bird raised in a cage its whole life, once released, sometimes hesitates at the open door, unsure how to use freedom it's never known. Learning to fly takes practice, even after the cage door is opened.
The Word
Some new believers carry old chains into their new life — guilt that keeps resurfacing, old fears, old habits of hiding from God. Christ has already set you free. But learning to actually live free, rather than out of old habits, takes practice.
Freedom in Christ doesn't mean you'll never struggle again. It means the chains no longer have the final say. Every time you choose truth over old shame, you're practicing freedom you've already been given.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A freed prisoner, unused to open spaces after years locked away, initially stayed close to walls out of habit, before slowly learning to walk freely through open fields.
What old chain — guilt, fear, shame — am I still living like I'm wearing, even though Christ already removed it?
Name one "old chain" today, and speak the truth of your freedom in Christ over it, out loud.
Lord, thank You for setting me free. Teach me to actually live like it. Amen.
