Morning Reflection

A boy afraid of the dark once refused to say out loud exactly what scared him, which only made the fear feel bigger and more mysterious. When he finally admitted to his mother, "I'm scared there's something under my bed," she was able to actually help — because now the fear had a name.

The Word

Unnamed fear tends to grow bigger in the dark, feeding on vague, shapeless worry. Naming a fear clearly — saying exactly what you're afraid of, out loud or in prayer — takes away some of its power.

2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that fear isn't the spirit God gave us. It doesn't mean fear never shows up. It means fear doesn't get the final word — power, love, and a clear mind do.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A shadow on the wall looked like a terrifying monster to a frightened child, until his father turned on the light and showed him it was only a coat hanging on a hook.

CrossCamp Reflection

What fear have I been avoiding naming clearly, letting it stay big and shapeless in the dark?

Today's Walk

Name your fear clearly today, out loud in prayer, instead of keeping it vague.

Prayer for Today

Lord, I name my fear before You today. Thank You that fear doesn't get the final word in my life. Amen.
