Morning Reflection

A boy once assumed a friend's short, distracted reply meant he was being deliberately rude, and stayed offended for days — until he learned his friend had simply been dealing with a family emergency that had nothing to do with him at all.

The Word

A lot of offense comes from assuming the worst about someone's intentions, without actually knowing the full story. Sometimes people really do mean to hurt us — but often, they're just tired, distracted, or dealing with something we don't know about.

Proverbs 19:11 calls it wisdom, even glory, to overlook an offense — not pretending it didn't happen, but choosing not to let every small thing wound you deeply.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A boy stepped on another boy's foot in a crowded market by accident, then apologized immediately. But the boy whose foot was stepped on assumed it was on purpose and started a fight — over something that was never intended to hurt him.

CrossCamp Reflection

Have I assumed the worst about someone's intentions instead of considering another explanation?

Today's Walk

The next time something small offends you today, pause and consider another possible explanation before reacting.

Prayer for Today

Lord, give me wisdom to overlook small offenses instead of taking everything personally. Amen.
