Morning Reflection
A wealthy businessman once admitted, in a quiet moment, that despite everything he'd built, he'd never felt more alone than during his most successful years — surrounded by things, but missing the peace he'd assumed those things would bring.
The Word
Jesus warned specifically against measuring life by how much you own. Possessions can meet real needs, but they were never designed to fill the deeper hunger for peace, purpose, and connection with God.
This isn't a warning only for wealthy people. It's a warning for anyone — rich or poor — tempted to believe that "just a little more" will finally satisfy what only God actually can.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A man built an enormous barn to store his growing wealth, confident he'd finally secured a comfortable, worry-free future — the very night before his life unexpectedly ended, with none of it going where he'd planned.
Have I confused having more with being more secure or more satisfied?
Spend time today thanking God specifically for things money can't buy — peace, relationships, His presence.
Lord, remind me today that my life isn't measured by what I own. Help me treasure what truly matters. Amen.
