Morning Reflection
A young shop assistant, trusted with only small, unglamorous tasks at first, handled each one with full care and honesty. Over time, his employer began trusting him with far bigger responsibilities — not because of a sudden change, but because his character in small things had already proven itself.
The Word
God's pattern for growth is consistent: faithfulness in small things comes before responsibility in bigger things. Skipping this step rarely works — character built in small, unnoticed moments is what actually holds up under bigger pressure later.
Luke 16:10 isn't just about money. It applies to every area — how you treat people when no one's watching, how you handle small tasks, how honest you are in small things.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
A young apprentice was first trusted only to sweep the floor of the workshop. He swept it perfectly, every single day, without complaint — and eventually was trusted with the master's most valuable tools.
Am I being faithful in the small responsibilities I have right now, or am I waiting for bigger ones first?
Handle one small responsibility today with full care, as practice for what's ahead.
Lord, help me be faithful in small things today, trusting You with what comes next. Amen.
