Morning Reflection
A runner training for a long-distance race explained why he valued showing up for a short, average run every single day far more than one occasional, impressive, exhausting effort. "Consistency beats intensity," he said. "Every time."
The Word
A lot of people give up on growth because they expect perfection and get discouraged when they fall short. Galatians 6:9 doesn't call us to perfection. It calls us to not grow weary — to keep showing up, even imperfectly, over time.
Character isn't built by one perfect day. It's built by consistently choosing to keep going, especially on the days it feels hardest.
A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today
Water dripping slowly but consistently onto a single stone, day after day, eventually wears a groove into solid rock — not through force, but through steady persistence over time.
Where have I given up on growth because I expected perfection instead of consistency?
Choose one small, consistent habit today that you can realistically keep doing, even imperfectly, this week.
Lord, help me value consistency over perfection today. Give me strength to keep showing up. Amen.
