Morning Reflection

A month ago, this journey began with a simple picture: a tree that grows strong roots before it grows visible height. Today, thirty-one days later, something real has shifted underground — even if it isn't fully visible yet.

Pride has been named. Fear has been faced. Bitterness has been released, at least in part. Comparison has started to loosen its grip. Character has been quietly shaped in small, unnoticed choices. Waiting has been practiced, not just endured.

The Word

Matthew 5:16 talks about light shining and good deeds being seen — but notice, this comes after a whole month of unseen, underground work. The order matters: roots first, then visible fruit and light.

November moves into something new — living for Christ outwardly: servanthood, leadership, generosity, purpose. But you're not walking into it the same person who started October. You've grown deep this month, even in ways you can't fully measure yet. That's exactly the foundation the next stage needs.

A Simple Story Jesus Might Tell Today

A tree that spent its early years growing deep, unseen roots eventually grew tall enough and strong enough to shelter an entire flock of birds, weather every storm, and bear fruit for generations — all because of work no one saw at the start.

CrossCamp Reflection

Looking back at this month, what root has grown deepest in me — and how might that shape what's ahead?

Today's Walk

Write down one specific way you've grown deeper this month, even in a way others might not see yet.

Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for growing my roots deep this month. Prepare me now to live for You outwardly, starting in November. Amen.
