September Prophetic Theme: ESTABLISHED TO BUILD — Established in Christ, Character, Unity and Assignment.
Core Scriptures
Colossians 2:6-7 — "As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving."
Ephesians 3:17-19 — "That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
Psalm 1:1-3 — "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly... But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."
Teaching Focus
Before God establishes a house, He establishes the people who will carry the house. CrossCamp has spent the preceding months dealing with foundation, formation, alignment, responsibility, leadership, service, planting, evangelism, and Kingdom purpose. September therefore begins with a deeper question: are we established enough to establish others?
A person can be active without being established. A person can attend church without being rooted. A person can serve without being spiritually stable. A person can know Scripture without allowing Scripture to shape their character.
God is not merely looking for people who can participate in CrossCamp. He is preparing people who can carry CrossCamp's spiritual assignment faithfully. Establishment means being rooted in Christ, becoming stable in faith, developing spiritual consistency, remaining faithful when circumstances change, becoming dependable in responsibility, and allowing Christ to shape our character.
Part One — As You Received Christ, So Walk in Him
Paul begins with Christ. He does not tell the Colossians to become established in an organization, personality, system, or experience. He says, "As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him." The Christian life begins with Christ and must continue with Christ. This matters for CrossCamp because the church must never become the destination. CrossCamp can provide structure, leaders can provide direction, pillars can provide strength — but Christ alone is the foundation.
Receiving Jesus is not merely a moment; it becomes a lifestyle. Establishment therefore requires daily walking — walking in obedience, holiness, love, humility, truth, and faith. A pillar cannot be strong publicly while remaining spiritually inconsistent privately. What we are in private eventually determines what we can carry publicly.
Part Two — Rooted and Built Up
Paul uses two pictures. Rooted, like a tree: a tree's strength is not primarily determined by what people see above the ground; its unseen roots determine its stability. Likewise, spiritual establishment begins beneath the surface. A pillar's prayer life, relationship with Scripture, obedience, character, personal devotion and integrity may not always be visible to others, but they determine how much responsibility that person can carry.
Built up, like a building: once roots are established, construction continues. Spiritual growth is progressive. God is building character, then capacity, then responsibility, then influence. CrossCamp should therefore not rush people into positions merely because they are gifted. Character must grow alongside capacity.
Part Three — Biblical Examples
Part Four — What an Established Pillar Looks Like
An established pillar is consistent — they do not appear only when convenient. They are teachable, receiving correction without becoming offended. They are dependable, so that assigned responsibility can be trusted to them. They are spiritually disciplined, with a devotion that does not depend entirely on church activities. They are committed to unity and do not create unnecessary division. They are emotionally mature and do not allow every disappointment to become a reason for withdrawal. And they are Christ-centred, because their commitment is ultimately to Christ and His Kingdom.
September is therefore not a month for asking, "What position will I receive?" It is a month for asking, "What kind of person am I becoming?" Before CrossCamp publicly receives many members, the pillars must become spiritually dependable. We are preparing the foundation before increasing the structure.

Reflective Direction
This week, do not focus primarily on what you can do for CrossCamp. Focus on who you are becoming in Christ. Practise consistency before visibility, character before position, devotion before responsibility, and faithfulness before influence.
Practical Assignment for the Week
Your Assignment Checklist
- The 7-Day Establishment Check.
- Maintain daily prayer.
- Read Scripture every day.
- Carry out one deliberate act of obedience.
- Perform one act of service.
- Offer one intentional act of encouragement toward another pillar.
- Avoid unnecessary conflict or division.
- End each night by asking, "Did my choices today strengthen or weaken my foundation?"
- At the end of the week, write down three areas where you saw growth and one area requiring further surrender.

Monthly Declaration
Declare it aloud
I am rooted in Christ.
I am being built up in faith.
I choose consistency over convenience, character over position, and faithfulness over recognition.
I will not merely attend what God is building.
I will become established enough to help establish it.
Christ is my foundation, and I will remain faithful to His assignment.
Amen.
Reflect & Pray
If everything around me changed, would I remain rooted in Christ? Can God trust me with what He is preparing to place in my hands?
