Seek First the Kingdom

Matthew 6:33 — "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Romans 14:17 — "For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

"I choose God's Kingdom above my own ambitions. My life exists to glorify Christ and advance His Kingdom."

For seven months, God has been laying a strong foundation in CrossCamp Church. He has taught us to remain steadfast, embrace discipline, carry responsibility, discover our gifts, and prepare for His mission. Now He begins to teach us how to live as Kingdom people.

Many believers desire God's blessings but never learn to prioritize God's Kingdom. Jesus never taught His followers to chase blessings first. Instead, He taught them to pursue God's reign, God's righteousness, and God's purpose above everything else.

The Kingdom of God is not simply about going to heaven. It is God's rule in the hearts of His people, His authority over our lives, and His purpose being fulfilled on the earth. A flourishing church is built by people whose greatest desire is not personal success but the advancement of God's Kingdom.

Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness." He did not say seek success first, money first, comfort first, or recognition first. The Kingdom of God is God's sovereign rule over every area of life — where Christ is honored as King and His will is joyfully obeyed.

Seeking the Kingdom means making God the highest priority in our decisions, relationships, careers, finances, worship, service, and future. Kingdom-minded people ask, "Lord, what do You want?" instead of, "Lord, what do I want?"

The phrase "seek first" speaks of continuous, intentional pursuit. It is not a one-time decision but a daily lifestyle: to desire His presence, obey His Word, pursue His righteousness, and actively participate in His mission.

Many believers love God, yet their lives are driven more by personal goals than by God's purposes. There is nothing wrong with pursuing education, business, marriage, or financial stability. However, these pursuits must never replace our commitment to God's Kingdom.

Kingdom people understand that every blessing is a tool for advancing God's glory. Our careers become platforms for ministry, our homes places of discipleship, our finances instruments of generosity, and our gifts opportunities to serve.

Romans 14:17 — "For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." The Kingdom is not defined by outward activities alone; it is revealed through transformed lives.

Righteousness is living in obedience to God with integrity and holiness. Peace is walking in reconciliation with God and with people. Joy is living with confidence and hope because Christ reigns within us. These qualities should be visible in every pillar of CrossCamp Church.

Everything we build for ourselves will one day fade, but whatever is built for God's Kingdom has eternal value. Jesus invested in people; He discipled ordinary men who would carry the Gospel to the nations. CrossCamp Church is committed to building people before building platforms.

A Kingdom legacy is created when we lead others to Christ, disciple new believers, strengthen families, serve faithfully, and remain committed to God's house. Our success is measured not merely by what we accumulate but by the lives we help transform.

In prayer, seek God's will before presenting personal desires. In time, give God the first and best portion of our lives. In finances, support God's work joyfully and faithfully. In relationships, choose forgiveness, love, and humility. In service, look for opportunities to serve without seeking recognition.

In decisions, ask, "Will this choice honor Christ and advance His Kingdom?" before making major decisions.
